Divisibility Rule by 5

If the last digit of a given number is 5 or 0, then we can say that the given number is divisible by 5.



Example : Is 840 divisible by 5?

Solution : Last digit is 0. Hence divisible by 5.

 

Example : Is 2415 divisible by 5?

Solution : Last digit is 5. Hence divisible by 5.

 

Example : Is 1556 divisible by 5?

Solution : Last digit is 6. Hence not divisible by 5.

54820 - Last digit is 0. Hence divisible by 5.

25876 - Last digit is 6. Hence not divisible by 5.

36515 - Last digit is 5. Hence divisible by 5.

684521 - Last digit is 1. Hence not divisible by 5.

36586 - Last digit is 6. Hence not divisible by 5.

25420 - Last digit is 0. Hence divisible by 5.

578645 - Last digit is 5. Hence divisible by 5.

25640 - Last digit is 0. Hence divisible by 5.
